When your bag reaches us, we check every item by hand against The Closet Standard. Each item we accept earns a credit you can spend in the closet. You'll get a breakdown of what was accepted, what wasn't, and why.
Spend your credits on new favorites, or the stuff you'll use next month. Then, just send back what you're finished with for more credits.

They aren't sent back. Anything that doesn't meet The Closet Standard is donated, so it still finds a kid, just doesn't come back to you. Worth reading the standard before you pack, so nothing in the bag is a surprise.

You give us a card when you join, but nothing is taken. Your membership starts charging when your first credit lands in your credit bank. If you don't earn one, your card is released and you are never charged at all.
Your credits come from what you send in, so your plan isn't paying for the clothes. It covers your prepaid bags both ways, and the grading behind The Closet Standard, to ensure that everything is ready for its next use.
Kids' sizing varies a lot between brands, so it happens. Put it in your next swap bag and we'll grade it like anything else. If it meets The Closet Standard, it earns you a credit.
Wooden puzzles, shape sorters, building sets, pretend play. The open-ended, screen-free kinds of things kids come back to. A toy needs to be wipeable or washable, small enough for a shoe box, and under three pounds. We check every toy against CPSC recall notices before it goes in the closet.
